Dr. Yazidhi Bamutaze (Makerere University) is working as Associate Professor, Department of Geography, Geo-Informatics and Climatic Sciences (GGCS), Makerere University (Uganda). He is interested in multidisciplinary research covering geomorphic processes, land use and cover change impacts, geospatial based modelling, climate change adaptation among others.

He was a funded fellow by the Volkswagen foundation funded fellow with a research project focusing on land use and climate change impact on sediment and nutrient fluxes and livelihoods in the Lake Victoria Basin. He is the Secretary of IALE-African Chapter and also an executive member of the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE). He has enormous organizational skills and has organized several international conferences, training workshops and symposium.

He will be responsible for the local organization of logistical aspects of the summer school including making arrangements for the excursions.
